Over the centuries there has been much talk about the Bible and what God meant by the things He said. Many people say the Bible says one thing but really means something else entirely. When a person tries to study the Bible without the help of the Holy Spirit, they can make some dangerous blunders. There are those that try to say God really meant something else when he tries to bend the word to match his life of unholiness to make it say what he wants it to say to justify his sin. Because he will not admit it IS sin. They are the ones that will argue with you and sound like they know what they are talking about but in reality, they don’t.
The Bible starts out in the beginning. It says that God made the Heavens and the Earth in 6 days and rested on the seventh day. I don’t care how long it took. It could have taken any amount of time to do it but many stop there and say there is no way God did that in 6 days and stop reading right there and call the Bible a lie and say it isn’t true therefore God does not exist. Now they can go on their happy way sinning believing there is no one that will ever hold them accountable for their sins. They won’t find out until they are dead and have to face their maker with no way to defend themselves or just fall headfirst into Hell. There is a list in Revelation chapter 21 verse 8, of the type of people that will not go to Heaven. But those that are on this list will be able to go if they humble themselves and pray for Jesus to forgive them and cleanse them of their sins.
Please don’t give up on the Bible. I have been studying for over 40 years since I accepted Jesus as my savior, and I have grown closer and closer to God. When you except Jesus and what He has done for you doesn’t mean you have arrived and nothing else can happen. Many churches use the scripture where it says that God will never leave you. This is a true statement. But it doesn’t mean that you can never leave on your own. He will not force you to stay if you decide sin is more important or easier than having a life of freedom to do whatever you want or think it’s easier than remaining a Christian. We are all sinners, but God won’t tolerate sin but is faithful and just to forgive us if we sin if we humble ourselves before Him and really mean what we say.
Also, the Bible contains so much more than salvation. Study it every day and you will Grow in Christ and become more like Jesus.
